About Retro Collection Index
Retro Collection Index gives physical video game collectors a better way to understand, organize, and enjoy their collections.
Most collection trackers reduce a library to a simple list of titles and prices. We believe a collection deserves more than that. Retro Collection Index brings games, cover art, condition details, market values, collection progress, and missing titles together in one modern platform designed around the way collectors actually think about their shelves.
Whether you own a modest personal collection or are working toward a complete console library, Retro Collection Index makes it easier to see what you own, understand what it may be worth, manage individual items, and decide what to collect next.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build the most useful, visual, and collector-focused platform for physical video game collections—not just another inventory spreadsheet with a polished interface.
Collectors can catalog cartridges, discs, cases, manuals, and complete-in-box games, monitor market-based value estimates, organize items by condition and completeness, and identify the titles still needed to finish a collection.
As technology and the collecting hobby continue to evolve, we will continue building tools that make collection management more accurate, accessible, and enjoyable. Retro Collection Index is a living platform that will continue to grow alongside the community it serves.
Built Around Collectors
A collection should feel like more than rows in a spreadsheet.
Retro Collection Index turns collection data into an experience that is easy to explore and understand. Visual libraries, detailed game records, value insights, and completion tracking help collectors appreciate the full scope of what they have built.
Our goal is simple: create a platform we would genuinely want to use ourselves, with thoughtful features that are difficult to find anywhere else.
Your Collection Belongs to You
Building a digital catalog takes real time and effort, and collectors should always remain in control of their own information.
Existing collections can be imported from a spreadsheet, and collection data can be exported to CSV at any time. Retro Collection Index is designed to help manage collection data, never to lock it inside the platform.
How Data and Pricing Are Handled
Game information and cover artwork are sourced from established data providers. Value estimates are based on real marketplace activity rather than seller asking prices alone.
All displayed values are informational estimates. They are not professional appraisals, guaranteed sale prices, or formal valuations. Actual market value may vary depending on condition, completeness, edition, demand, marketplace fees, and other factors.
More information about data sources and pricing methods is available on the Data Commitment page. Common questions are covered in the FAQ, and collector guides are available for anyone interested in learning more about the hobby.
Independent and Veteran-Owned
Retro Collection Index is independently built, veteran-owned, and operated with a genuine passion for physical video games and the collecting community.
This is not a corporate product. It is an independent platform created by collectors, for collectors, with a focus on useful tools, transparency, and long-term support for the hobby.
Retro Collection Index is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any console manufacturer, game publisher, or marketplace. Game titles, cover artwork, console names, trademarks, and related materials belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and cataloging purposes only.
